MACHINES Machines are mechanisms that make our work easier and faster, because they help us increase our strenght. SIMPLE AND COMPOUND MACHINES Since prehistoric times the first human beings used simple machines to push, pull, lift, split or crush things. Later simple machines were used to row, to build the first houses, to get the firewood, to transport heavy loads from one place to another... Today we can find simple machines everywhere around us. Simple Machines  are made up of one or a few pieces, and they are used to modify forces.   Compound Machines are made up of many different parts and combine many simple machines such as levers, wheels, pulleys, and gears to work.
